"Nothing is more satisfying than finding, and
expressing, the heart of a great song," says
singer, guitarist, and confessed "song junkie"
Jay Wilensky.
An evening with Jay features songs by modern
masters such as Michael Smith, Richard Shindell, Joni Mitchell and Buddy Mondlock, sung with
insight and wit in a rich baritone.

Jay, who in real life is the father of three, a Public Defender, and a baseball umpire ("because I don't get enough grief in my life"), cites Tom Rush as his major influence. Like Rush, Jay digs for the finest in contemporary songwriting, and brings it to life.
Jay's primary musical focus is on Circle Round the Sun, his folk/acoustic duo with Marie Trontell.
Marie is a doctor by day and an aspiring torch singer by night, who relies on music to refuel her soul. She has a warm alto voice and a knack for finding haunting harmonies. She especially loves ballads and blues, and has been part of various musical groups, from church choirs to cabaret performers. Marie's credits include the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival as a member of Taproot, and she performs with the Three Blonde Chicks cabaret act, and the folk/pop band Wink and a Nod.
Marie and Jay met as members of the Folk Project, a Morris County, NJ-based organization of 600 performers and devotees of traditional and acoustic-based music. They quickly realized that their voices and musical sensibilities blended seamlessly, and formed Circle Round the Sun with the goal of bringing sweet harmonies to great songs.
